Where can I get a Micro Pig?
Please make sure that you go to a reputable breeder with many years experience. There are lots of people out there advertising and claiming to have tiny pigs and have only been keeping pigs for a matter of months, make sure that you can see both of the parents when you go to see them. You will find a list of approved Micro Pig Breeders on the British Micro Pig Club Website.

What is a Tea Cup Pig?
Do not be fooled - these do not exist. Some people have taken photos of very young (3-5 days old) piglets and put them in tea cups. Of course they look tiny but THEY WILL GROW! No animal stays the same size as it was when it was born.

Do you under feed them to get them this size?
Absolutely not. It has taken many years of careful selected breeding to have a healthy, happy good natured micro pig.

How old are they when they leave their mother?
This can differ from piglet to piglet – anything from 8-12 weeks old. They have to be ready to leave and comfortably on solids – every pig is different just like humans.

Can anyone own a Micro Pig?
No – you must have a County Parish Holding Number from the The Rural Payments Agency and have adequate outside space and housing for them.

Can I keep a Micro Pig as a house pet?
Yes but this will involve a lot of your time and patience. Pigs are highly sociable and can become destructive if left alone for any length of time. A Pig with plenty of attention and access to inside and outside will be happiest.

What about my other pets?
Pigs normally bond very well with other pets such as Dogs and Cats. This can happen immediately or may sometimes take a week or so.
